Alexandre Diop

Alexandre Diop (b. 1995) is a Franco-Senegalese artist based in Vienna. His process is initially guided by the physical realities of the materials he employs in his works. Using every day – and often discarded – materials and objects such as books, photographs, metal, and wood, as well as elements like animal hair, fire, and rust, Diop creates compositions that respect creativity and conceptually investigate the artistic essence. Serving as multilayered narratives, the works delve deeply into his own experiences, and his observations and interpretations of the world around him.
